Virginia Veteran and Family Support

Serving Virginia Veterans and Families – Building a Community of Strength

Virginia Veteran and Family Support (VVFS) monitors and coordinates behavioral health, rehabilitative, and support services through an integrated, comprehensive and responsive system of public and private partnerships. VVFS facilitates these services for Virginia veterans, members of the Virginia National Guard and Armed Forces Reserves (not in federal service), and their families with a special emphasis on those affected by stress related conditions or traumatic brain injuries resulting from military service.

VVFS is a rebranding of the Virginia Wounded Warrior Program (VWWP) that took effect on 1 October 2015. The program’s new brand is wellness focused and incorporates the family unit. The new brand avoids reference to wounds, illness, or injuries in order to help ensure that those the program seeks are more comfortable in seeking and accepting assistance.
