MOAA names The Bugle among top chapter newsletters for 2014 

For the second consecutive year, MOAA has recognized the Central Virginia Chapter's newsletter, The Bugle, as one of the top chapter printed newsletters in the country. The "Col Marvin J. Harris Communications Awards" were announced on 16 April 2015 at MOAA's annual Council Presidents' Seminar. The Bugle was rated 2nd runner-up nationally and best within Virginia during 2014 for printed newsletters by chapters with 200-299 members. The logo signifying the award appears in the masthead on the front page of The Bugle. Each year, national MOAA holds a communications award contest to identify those councils and chapters that do an outstanding job communicating with their members. There are several categories of competition grouped by chapter size including printed newsletter, electronic newsletter, website and others. Last year The Bugle was recognized as the best 2013 printed newsletter nationally for chapters with 200-299 members. 

For 2013, The Bugle received the Colonel Marvin J. Harris Communications Award as the best MOAA chapter print newspaper in the nation for chapters our size.
